Philosophy & Approach
Lisa provides a safe space to explore your relationship with food and heal your relationship with yourself! Lisa centres each client as the expert in their own lives, aiming to empower you to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. Unpack emotional eating, set achievable stepping stones, address life’s key challenges and re-write your food script to create lasting positive health behaviours in line with your surgery goals.
Lisa is an advocate for practising what you preach! Her spare time is filled with self-care practices, which for Lisa, involves time with family and puppy Molly. Lisa is often found at the South Melbourne Market sourcing fresh flowers and cheeses; she loves putting on a cheese board!
Lisa has focused her career on treatment for navigating disordered eating, negative body image, poor relationships with food, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety and trauma. She has provided a continuity of care for individuals from 1 year prior to surgery through to 6+ years post-surgery and loves getting to know the individual personalities and unique experiences each client brings. Prior to coming on board at WLSS Lisa worked in private practice for 5 years and also works for the nutrition department in a hospital inpatient setting, she has a particular interest in the amalgamation of mental health and nutrition.
Lisa graduated from The Australian College of Applied Psychology as a Counsellor and holds a Graduate Diploma in Human Nutrition from Deakin University. Lisa is a member of The Australian Centre for Eating Disorders and is a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association.
